An appointment with a chiropractor
Chiropractic care is a primary health care option for many conditions that can be painful and affect the musculoskeletal system:
- Back;
- Shoulders;
- Knees;
- Wrists;
- Hands;
- Neck;
- Hips;
- Jaw;
- Elbows;
- Feet.
The initial session
The initial examination begins with the opening of your file. You will be asked to complete the intake form and the initial questionnaire. Your chiropractor will then proceed with an in-depth history that will include a conversation detailing your current complaint/problem and any past or present relevant medical information.
The physical examination
This will be followed by a thorough physical examination including postural and biomechanical assessment, a chiropractic examination that includes palpation of joints and muscles, orthopedic tests, a complete neurological examination and any additional tests required to ensure an accurate diagnosis.
Diagnosis and treatment plans
Following the evaluation of your health status, we will be able to give you our diagnosis. This diagnosis will allow us to develop and implement a treatment plan adapted to your needs and health status.
Chiropractic care can also complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with a wide range of nervous and musculoskeletal system problems.
Your treatment plan may include the following chiropractic care:
Rehabilitation
Finally, each treatment plan includes rehabilitation. Your chiropractor will recommend rehabilitation exercises and other adjunctive treatments and can give you ergonomic advice adapted to your lifestyle.
